The ticket on this page is for a mountain: Moganshan, in Deqing County, Huzhou prefecture, Zhejiang Province, China, about 60 km north of Hangzhou and 200 to 240 km from Shanghai. Moganshan Road, the M50 art district, is a street in Shanghai and sells no tickets.
Short answer: published Moganshan ticket prices run from RMB 50 to RMB 130, and the dated record puts the window price at RMB 80. Why they disagree.
Then the question nobody asks first. Plenty of people who come here never buy one.
The villages sit at the foot of the mountain, and so do almost all of the roughly 1,000 guesthouses. Xiantan alone holds more than 150 in a village of about 2,000 people. The restaurants are down there too. What the ticket covers is the protected core above, the Moganshan National Scenic Area, and you can spend a whole weekend below it without ever needing one.

Two published prices that do not agree
Two sets of prices circulate for the same Moganshan scenic area ticket. They do not overlap, and neither one traces to an official source.

The dated Chinese record is narrower. Two guides, three years apart, put the adult ticket at the window at RMB 80. The later one gave RMB 70 for a ticket bought the day before. The buses are extra.

Two guides agreeing is not a price notice. On 19 September 2026 the county and municipal portals timed out and the resort’s own website refused every request, so no official figure could be reached from outside China.

The seasonal tariff at the top of the Chinese search results is no better. It sits on a page whose own footer says the content was generated by AI.

Some of the spread is people pricing different places under one name. Yucun (庾村) and Houwu (后坞) are scenic areas in their own right, and appear on official lists under their own names.

Budget RMB 130 a head for the gate and both buses. Anything less is change back, and you should confirm the figure when you book. Three places beat any website.

Why the entrance fee is the small number
Overpay at the gate and you are out RMB 50, the width of the disagreement. Miss the last bus down and you lose the evening.
So the conflict is annoying without being expensive, and the thing that will really cost you is the clock.
The transfer centres and the last bus down
One constraint never shows up in the price. Between 08:00 and 17:30 a private car cannot drive into the scenic area. The rule has been in force since 30 November 2018, and English sources almost never print it. You leave the car at a transfer centre below and go on by shuttle.

How many transfer centres there are depends on who you ask. A member of staff told Tide News in December 2025 that two were set up when the road closed in 2018. The written record has said three since 2019.

The published hours disagree as badly as the prices. Five readings, four dates, and no seasonal calendar behind them.

The 08:00 to 17:30 window was printed by a newsroom that had just been stopped on the road. The 18:00 figure came from our own desk check of listings. Both dated readings of the last bus down say 17:00. Work backwards from that and none of the disagreements can reach you.
A room inside the gate changes the road, not the ticket. A guest with a booking there, plus a parking reservation, may drive in at any hour. In 2019 the county paper had such guests buy a scenic area ticket as well, at the Fatou transfer centre. The private car ban page has the detail.

Concessions, and two things to settle at the counter
Discount rules are the most stable part of the record. They go by height and age, applied at the window against a document rather than a booking.

The concession is on the gate ticket only. The coach and the loop bus are charged separately, and no source we found gives a child discount on either. Carry the document itself; a photograph will not do.
Two things no dated source settles. Ask them in the same message that asks the price.

Buying it, and what to have ready
Assume you do need a ticket. Buying one is easy, provided you did one thing before you left. The only advance discount in the dated record is ten yuan, RMB 70 the day before against RMB 80 at the window. Advance sales run through Alipay and WeChat Pay, which foreign cards can be bound to. Do that setup at home, because the line at Yucun is a bad place to find out it does not work. Money and payments has it.
To book ahead online, Trip.com lists the scenic area ticket. Compare the price it shows with the dated figures above before you pay.
Carry your passport, not a photo. Hotels and attractions check it as routine, and your booking ties to the number.
Season moves the price, and moves the crowd more

Only the two published sets and the machine written tariff split the price by season. The dated guides print one price all year.
Winter buys the cheapest ticket and the shortest day inside the gate. Weekends and holidays push everyone through the same transfer points at once. Best time to visit works that trade, and the planning hub is where to start.
