Deqing station: which exit, which taxi, which bus

Get off at Deqing, not Deqing West. Walk the covered passage to the coach centre: the Y1 bus to Moganshan town runs seven times a day for RMB 10, and a taxi costs about RMB 60 to 100.

Moganshan is a mountain in Deqing County, in Huzhou prefecture, Zhejiang Province, about 60 km north of Hangzhou and 200 to 240 km from Shanghai. Deqing station (德清站) is the high speed stop that serves it, 18.4 km by road from Yucun, the village at the foot of the mountain. A covered walkway leads from the station to the coach centre, where the Y1 bus and the taxis wait.

The names are the hard part. The county has two railway stations, a county town called Wukang (武康) with no high speed stop of its own, and a metro station on the way with Moganshan in its name. Moganshan Road in Shanghai, the M50 art district, is another place again.

Four names, two stations

Book Deqing (德清) and get off at Deqing. Everything else here is a different station, or not a station at all.

Name you may see What it is Get off here for Moganshan?
Deqing (德清站) High speed stop on the Nanjing to Hangzhou and Hefei to Hangzhou lines Yes
Deqing West (德清西站) The old conventional station in Wukang Only if your train stops nowhere else
Wukang (武康) The county town; no station has used the name since 1992 Not on any ticket
Moganshan High Tech Zone (莫干山高新区站) A metro stop in town, due at the end of 2026 No

The confusion is old, and the county paper wrote it down. The station in Wukang became Wukang station (武康站) in 1978. In September 1992 it became Moganshan station (莫干山站), to put the mountain on the railway map. On 18 August 2005 it became Deqing, because the name did not match the place and had confused passengers for years. In June 2012 it became Deqing West, so the new high speed stop could be called Deqing.

Wukang station renamed Moganshan in September 1992, Deqing on 18 August 2005 and Deqing West from 20 June 2012, Deqing News (德清新闻网), 11 June 2012, tier 2. https://dqnews.zjol.com.cn/dqnews/system/2012/06/11/015112142.shtml

So no station called Moganshan exists today, whatever older English guides (this site’s among them) have said. China Railway’s own station list has Deqing and Deqing West and nothing named Moganshan. If an app offers you one, check the Chinese name before you pay.

Stations 德清 (DRH) and 德清西 (MOH), none named 莫干山, China Railway 12306 (中国铁路12306) station list, read 25 October 2026, tier 1. https://kyfw.12306.cn/otn/resources/js/framework/station_name.js

Both high speed lines stop at Deqing. The Hefei to Hangzhou line has four stops in Zhejiang, and Deqing is one of them.

Which exit at Deqing station: the walkway to the coach centre

No exit plan for Deqing station has been published, and we haven’t walked it, so this rests on the local press. It describes one route that matters: an 80 m covered walkway from the station to the Deqing coach centre (德清县客运中心), with step free lanes along both sides.

The coach centre holds the local buses, the taxi rank, long distance coaches and a tourist distribution point (旅游集散), the same report says. Lost? Show staff 客运中心 (coach centre) or 莫干山 (Moganshan) on your phone. The station’s lockers are behind security, not by the exit; where to leave your bags explains.

Which bus: the Y1 to Moganshan town

The Y1 tourist line (Y1旅游专线) leaves from the coach centre and ends at the Moganshan tourist transfer centre (莫干山旅游集散中心) in Moganshan town: 18 stops, seven runs each way, RMB 10.

Which taxi, and what it costs

The taxi rank is in the coach centre. The written record gives two fares, seven years apart, and they disagree.

After the 16:00 Y1, it is a taxi or a pickup arranged by your guesthouse. Budget for the higher taxi figure, and agree the destination before the bags go in, with the transfer centre (换乘中心) or your guesthouse’s name in Chinese. If you are staying inside the scenic area, ask the guesthouse which transfer centre to use, because private cars are kept out by day. The trip back down is harder; getting a car back down says why.

The K111, and when Deqing West is the better stop

The K111 is the local bus between Wukang and the high speed station. When it was set up for the line’s opening in July 2013, it ran from the old station in Wukang, now Deqing West, through town to Deqing station, 22 times each way between 06:30 and 21:50. No later timetable could be found in a dated source, so read those times as the route, not as the service today.

Deqing West sits on the conventional Xuancheng to Hangzhou line, so its trains are the slower ones. Oddly, it’s the closer station: 11.7 km by road to Yucun, against 18.4 km from Deqing, and a 2019 trip report put the taxi at about RMB 30. It has no Y1, though, so most visitors use it only when their train stops nowhere else.

The metro due at the end of 2026

The Hangzhou to Deqing line (杭德市域铁路), 25.6 km with nine stations, is due at the end of December 2026 and will run through to Hangzhou Metro Line 10. Its last stop is Deqing station itself, so a rider from Hangzhou will reach the Y1 and the taxis without a high speed ticket.
