Every hotel in Moganshan

Twelve hotels and resorts carry the Moganshan name. One of them is not on the mountain, and another does not exist yet. This page lists all twelve.

The mountain itself sits in Deqing County, Huzhou prefecture, Zhejiang Province, China, roughly 60 km north of Hangzhou, with Shanghai 200 to 240 km further off. None of that should be confused with Moganshan Road, the Shanghai art district known as M50, out in Putuo District some 200 km from here.

The names are complete. No ratings here, because nobody on this site has stayed in them.

What this list is, and what it deliberately is not

We have not spent one night in one room of any property named on this page.

We do not rate them. No stars, no scores, no ranking, no “best of”, no “our pick”. Nothing here describes service, comfort, food or design. We have not experienced any of it. Each property’s own site says more, in its own words. A ranked list of Moganshan hotels could be assembled in an afternoon from other people’s marketing copy. It would carry nothing we could stand behind.

Per property we publish five things and nothing else: the name, where it is, the year it opened, the key count, and the price band. Most of these properties publish nothing in English, so where a figure has never been put out publicly the cell reads Not published rather than carrying a guess.

The list, in full

The gaps are not evenly spread. Solvang Village, Lost Villa, Pullman and Arcadia Resorts are names and nothing more.

The lowercase n in naked is the brand’s own styling, not a typo. Pullman carries no city because a brand name is all we hold. Key counts read “about” because the sources do. The two dollar bands are quoted that way at source.

LEED is the only certification here, a third-party building standard scored on construction and energy use. It says nothing about the bed.

Two entries to read carefully

The Crowne Plaza Deqing Moganshan runs about 340 rooms from Wukang, the county seat of Deqing, 20 km off. The name says Moganshan and the booking sites file it with the mountain properties. Wukang is the rail and services town. No private vehicle may drive inside the scenic area, and its three transfer centers close at 18:00. That matters if your train gets in after six. Getting here sets out the route.

The Four Seasons is the other. Its announcement came on 12 September 2025 and gives 90 keys on a 23-hectare site at Yu Village, with 2030 as the year. Behind the project is Zhejiang Shangyin Cultural Tourism Development Co., which belongs to the Deqing County Cultural and Tourism Development Group.

The wording used is “Moganshan’s first international luxury resort with direct access to natural hot springs”. Nobody can book a Four Seasons room on this mountain today. Announced dates slip, and a 2030 opening is irrelevant to any trip you take this year.

Twelve hotels, a thousand guesthouses

That ratio is what no booking site shows you.

The cap came with tighter approvals in late 2017, and new supply still lands among the guesthouses. That is why this directory runs to twelve rows.

A search for “Moganshan hotels” returns hundreds of results, almost none of them hotels. They are minsu, small owner-run guesthouses, about 80 percent individually owned. What a minsu is explains what booking one involves.

Rates here answer to the calendar more than to the property, which is why the table below gives ranges rather than single numbers.

The guesthouses this page cannot cover

Those thousand guesthouses sit in villages ringing the mountain’s base. No honest English directory of those exists yet, and no search engine will produce one. Building one takes stays and photography over months.

Until then, where to stay starts with which village to sleep in, and the villages guide says what each has after dark.

Two narrower pages follow the same no-rating rule. Luxury stays handles the top end, villas the historic stone houses, of which about 250 survive.

Everything filed as a hotel by the booking system, which is a much longer list than the twelve above and includes places we have written nothing about, is on the hotels listing with live rates.
