If you are searching for Four Seasons Moganshan, you are about four years early. There is no hotel. What exists is an announcement, made on 12 September 2025, giving an opening year of 2030. Moganshan is a mountain in Deqing County, Huzhou prefecture, Zhejiang Province, with Hangzhou 60 km away and Shanghai 200 to 240 km. Today it holds no Four Seasons room and no date more exact than a year.
If a Four Seasons China search sent you here, Moganshan is a project, not a property. So book something else: a few resort properties at that level are already open on this mountain, named lower down.

That is the whole of it. The rest is missing because it was never announced:
- room types, rates and the restaurant or spa plan
- the architect, a construction start or a month within 2030
A page describing the bathrooms of a building nobody has poured concrete for would be fiction.

Only Le Passage is smaller, and the Crowne Plaza is not on the mountain. The site itself is about one percent of the core scenic area, which covers about 20 km². Beyond size, the announcement made one claim about the place.
The claim in the announcement, and the qualifier people drop
The announcement describes the project as “Moganshan’s first international luxury resort with direct access to natural hot springs”.
Read the end of that sentence. It does not claim to be Moganshan’s first international luxury resort. Foreign founders have run resort properties here since 2007, and guesthouse investors come from 18 countries, so that claim would be argued with here. What the wording claims is the hot springs.
That one sentence is the whole of the public evidence that hot water exists on this mountain. No source is named for it, no temperature is given, and nothing is open to visitors today. Do not book a trip for the water. The hot springs page goes through it.
Yu Village, and which village that actually is
Then there is the address. The site is given as Yu Village. The main village at the foot of the mountain is Yucun (庾村), often written the same way in English, and the announcement does not say whether it means that one.
There is a second trap in that name: Anji County has its own Yucun (余村), different characters and county, and the two get mixed up constantly. Treat all three names as separate. The villages guide covers each one.
Why the announcement matters more than the building will
Names aside, take the brand off and look at who signed. A global luxury operator picked this mountain. The other side of the deal is not a private developer: Zhejiang Shangyin Cultural Tourism Development Co. sits under the Deqing County Cultural and Tourism Development Group, the county government’s own development group. The county put its own company behind a Four Seasons.
Nothing else says as much about where this mountain is heading. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism named the area a national-level tourism resort on 15 December 2020, and private money had already been moving the same way.

The top of this market is fuller than the middle, and that is where the money has been going.
A signal is not a guarantee. Announced hotels slip, and some are never built. Five years is a long time. Our research shows no construction start and no record of permits or money committed. Until that changes, 2030 is an intention with a serious sponsor behind it, not a date to plan around.
None of which helps you book a room. It tells you what kind of mountain you will come back to.
