Three cafés under one new name, OR (自然之外), open in Moganshan town (莫干山镇) in September 2026, Deqing News (德清新闻网) reported on 4 September. One is a Nordic style metal cabin among the trees on Tianquan Mountain (天泉山), one is a converted village house in Nanlu (南路村), and one has a glass front on Mogan Yujie (莫干·庾街), the shopping street in Yucun at the foot of the mountain. All three serve coffee and western food.
The founders are three people from Shanghai who have each spent about a decade on the mountain: one runs outdoor camps and the Xiangye She (乡野社) outdoor space, one runs three guesthouses, and one comes from hotel restaurants. The name, they told the paper, means “another option” for a visitor who has a bed and a walk and nowhere to sit down. The Nanlu shop sells villagers’ farm produce without charging them, and the Yujie shop sits near the race venues and is pitched at event weekends.
The county paper says all three open in September. It does not give a day, and this site has not confirmed any of them trading on a review or booking platform, which is the test it applies to every opening. The second OR branch, unusually, is going the other way, to the Huangpu riverside in Shanghai, with its fit out mostly done.
Why it is worth a line
Moganshan’s problem for a visitor without a car has never been beds. It is what to do between meals in a village with one lane, and the shortage of places to sit that are not somebody else’s guesthouse. Three cafés at three heights on the mountain is a small change. It is also the first new reason in a while to leave the guesthouse after lunch. What a minsu is explains why the guesthouse is usually the only option.
What this means for a visitor: A visitor staying in the villages gets somewhere to sit with a coffee that is not the guesthouse, at three points on the mountain. Check the shops are trading before walking up to the Tianquan site, which is the one with no street around it.
