Deqing News (德清新闻网) reported on 3 September 2026 that the Spartan Moganshan warrior base (斯巴达莫干山勇士部落) has started construction and is expected to open to the public in October. The county paper describes it as the Spartan brand’s first permanent outdoor base anywhere, built by the county’s own tourism development group with Shengli Shijia (盛力世家), the company that stages the Spartan Race in China and will run the base.
The site is the former Discovery adventure park (Discovery探索极限主题公园), which had been standing idle. Five activities are listed: hiking trails, a high rope net course, a 100 metre children’s obstacle course, DEKA fitness training and a climbing wall. The owner’s representative told the paper the base would be the largest of its kind in eastern China and would open in October; that is the only date given, with no day and no price.
The same report confirms the Spartan Race (斯巴达勇士赛) and its children’s race return to the Moganshan resort in November 2026, the third year of the event here. Last year’s race weekend brought more than 2,000 families and 4,000 participants to the resort, by the county’s count. There is no independent figure, so this site reports it as the organiser’s number.
Announced, not open
An opening on this site is reported as such only when a booking platform shows it taking guests, and that is not yet the case. The base has been a standing watch item here since it was announced for the fourth quarter of 2026; this is the first report to put a month on it, and it is the developer’s month rather than a confirmed date.
What this means for a visitor: Nothing is bookable yet, and a visitor should not plan an October trip around it until a date and a ticket page appear. The November race weekend is the one to plan around: last year it brought more than 4,000 participants, and rooms near the resort will be tight.
