The Shanghai to Suzhou to Huzhou high speed line opened on 26 December 2024. At its fastest it puts Huzhou 55 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao. The northern approach into Zhejiang got better.
It did not change the trip most visitors take.

New line, new station, wrong mountain: the stop that carries the name Moganshan on other lines is nowhere near it either. Shanghai to Moganshan has the timings and the last mile.
What this means for a visitor: Probably not your train. Book Deqing on the Nanjing to Hangzhou line, 63 to 80 minutes from Hongqiao; Huzhou station is farther from the mountain than Deqing is.
