Spartan Race Moganshan is set for 7 and 8 November, with entries open to 31 October

The Spartan obstacle race returns to the Moganshan resort on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November. Its registration page lists four courses, from 5 km to 50 km, and takes entries until 31 October while places last.

The Spartan obstacle race (斯巴达勇士赛) has fixed its Moganshan weekend: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026. Zuicool (最酷), the platform that sells the places, showed registration open on 3 October. It closes at 23:59 on 31 October, and each course takes entries in order until it is full.

The venue is given only as the Moganshan International Tourism Resort (莫干山国际旅游度假区), the official name for the resort district around the mountain. Deqing News (德清新闻网) reported on 3 September that the race would return in November, but gave no days.

There are four courses: 5 km with 20 obstacles, 10 km with 25, 21 km with 30 and 50 km with 60. The 50 km course starts on Saturday morning only, at 08:30 and 09:00. The others send runners off in waves on both days, and the last wave leaves at 15:00 on Saturday. Elite and age group categories exist only on the two longer courses; the two shorter ones are open to anyone who enters. The page shows no entry fee, names no start village and publishes no course map. The organiser’s own description talks up the bamboo and the mud, and mentions an obstacle used only here in earlier years, in which competitors carry a length of moso bamboo.

This will be the race’s third year at the resort. Deqing News put last year’s race weekend at more than 4,000 participants and 2,000 families. That is the county’s figure, not an independent count. The same report said a children’s race would return alongside the adult one; the Zuicool page does not list it.

No traffic notice for the weekend has been published yet. In Deqing, road restrictions are usually announced by the county traffic police, and several thousand runners on narrow lanes and trails may mean some of them are closed or slowed. A visitor booked into a village near the resort that weekend should ask the property where the start is and how its pickups will run. A visitor who is not racing will probably find the weekend either side quieter.

What this means for a visitor: A visitor who wants a quiet weekend on the mountain should avoid 7 and 8 November, and anyone racing or staying near the resort that weekend should book a room now rather than in the last fortnight.
