Lovely stay close to Yucun Square. The family were super friendly and attentive. Wonderful breakfast made to order and everything very clean. The bed was a little hard for my preference but apart from that everything was excellent.

Played in the stream, caught fish and shrimp, swam in the pool, saw the fireflies, walked the mountain paths, ate farmhouse food, looked at the stars, mission complete, home. The guesthouse is clean and welcoming, the owner is warm, and the evenings around it are quiet and easy. The food is generous and good, much of it grown by them, the prices are fair and the value is very high.

Full marks. Quiet and secluded with lovely greenery. The rooms are clean and bright, the beds suit families or friends sharing, the cleaning is thorough and the soft furnishings are warm and comfortable. I picked this place for a weekend at Moganshan and it did not disappoint. Clean, tidy room and a very quiet setting, so I slept well. I left my glasses behind at checkout and was already at the next stop when the owner noticed, rang me, and on hearing I could not come back for them posted them without being asked. They arrived wrapped in three layers and undamaged. Careful and responsible, and the sort of owner whose guesthouse you can trust. Five stars without reservation.

A remarkable place, for three reasons. First, the site is large: a big hall, a big pool and a big dining area, so it suits a team weekend or a party. The ground floor hall is a proper square with everything sensibly laid out and a lot of space. The pool is big enough for ten people to have a five against five water fight. Both the outdoor and indoor dining areas seat close to twenty without crowding. Second, the host's service is excellent and he will do anything you ask. He cut fruit for us, chilled our drinks in advance, set out fans, and had the air conditioning on so the house was cool when we walked in from outside. Third, the car park at the gate holds well over ten cars and has a charging point, which matters now that so many people drive electric and is genuinely rare for a guesthouse up in the hills. The family are straightforward people. I asked why somewhere this good had so few reviews and he said he was too embarrassed to ask guests for them. A place like this should be better known.

It sits beside the Geling footpath, and opening the balcony door puts you straight into the bamboo on the hill behind, which I loved. Come to Moganshan by car if you can. Taxis are not that easy and everything is a little way off, ten minutes to half an hour of driving. The four of us wanted to do nothing at all, so we asked her to point us at fishing and fruit picking, and both were good. There is a mahjong room, and there were four of us, so we were back by six or seven every evening and played until eleven or twelve. Wonderful. Most of all it is cheap. Eight hundred a head for three nights over the National Day holiday is very hard to find. The one thing is damp, being up in the hills, and the bedding smelled slightly of it, though she dealt with it straight away and stripped the place of every spare pillow and quilt for us.

The room looked clean at a glance. The bathroom has a small shower head, and it is a timber house, so I had expected somewhere run down. It is better than that, with a small balcony facing the bamboo. We arrived around midday and the room was already made up so we could go straight in. On the way upstairs I saw another room being cleaned with the door open, and the two opposite ours looked good, with a large balcony, a swing, and the sun coming in beautifully. I have it on video if you want to compare. Next time I would take the room opposite. Breakfast is congee with pickles. The sweet potato was good and there was a small steamed bun and a dish of zhacai. It gets you going.

A good hotel with distinctive decoration and a generous breakfast.

I gave safety four stars because the room turned out to have a great deal of escape equipment in it. Breakfast is simple and healthy. It is about twenty minutes on foot to the coach station and ten to Yucun square. Everywhere else needs a taxi or a car.

Clean, tidy room, and she does her best to meet whatever you need. Easy to find, right by the road. The fittings are ordinary.

Good position, with a courtyard, and the mother and daughter who run it are welcoming and honest. If your demands are not high, it is a dependable place to stay.

Poor. The room is small, the road from the village up to the car park is very steep, there are no slippers, and the bedding was not especially clean. We were on the fourth floor with no lift, so it is all stairs. Worst of all, at six the next morning several children woke us shouting and banging in the corridor with nobody doing anything about it. I had come up here to sleep. I cannot tell you how annoyed I was.
